Mary Lou Foulk, 86, of rural Mendota died March 20, 2014, in Rockford Memorial Hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Merritt Funeral Home, with the Rev. Chris Heller officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota.
Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Monday in Merritt Funeral Home. She was born Feb. 23, 1928, in Earlville to Marion and Edith Mae (Winterton) Thompson. She married Franklin Foulk on Feb. 4, 1958. He died March 6, 2014. Survivors include four sons, Gary Sherwood of Savage, Minn., Michael Sherwood of Champaign, Glen (Ann) Foulk of Mendota and Lee (Tracy) Foulk of Moline; one daughter, Alison Walker of New Jersey; eight grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Compton. She enjoyed
attending dances with her husband and was an avid flower gardener with hundreds of varieties of daylilies in her flower borders at the farmyard.
