Mary M. Hild, 89, of LaMoille died, Sunday, October 9, 2016, in OSF St. Paul Hospital in Mendota.  Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 11:00a.m., in St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Arlington with Rev. Patrick Fixsen officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Arlington. Visitation will be Friday from 4-7 p.m., in the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota.

Mary was born March 25, 1927, in Mendota to Amiel and Emily (Lachet) Didier. She married Robert Hild November 27, 1948, in Holy Cross Church in Mendota.

Mary was a 1945 graduate of Mendota High School.   She was a member of St. Patrick Church in Arlington and was active in its Alter & Rosary Society. During her career she worked at Mendota airport in its earliest days and also served as a ward clerk at both IVCH Hospital in Peru and St. Margaret's Hospital in Spring Valley.

She is survived by two daughters, Jeri Lynn (Leon) Buettner of Lebanon and Janet (Mark) Wamhoff of LaMoille; four sons, Jim (Sharon) Hild of Naples, Fla.; John (Barbara) Hild of Arlington, Joel (Julie) Hild of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Jeff (Stephanie) Hild of Naperville; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, and two daughters, Jean Oklesen and Jill Hild, one great-granddaughter, Laney, a daughter-in-law, Theresa Hild, and 13 brothers and sisters.
