Mary Lou Malmborg, 93, of Mendota, Illinois, passed away on January 1, 2023 at Heritage Health after a long battle with cancer.
Mary Lou was born on September 16, 1929 to Earl and Sue Bond in Sandwich, Illinois.
After graduating from Sandwich High School, she went on to study elementary education at Northern Illinois University. In 1947, she met William Clifton Malmborg, and they wed in 1949, going on to have four children, Eric William, Jeff Norman, Miles Clifton and Andrew Scott. After settling in Carol Stream, Illinois, Mary Lou and her husband founded and built a successful photography business. She also served on the Carol Stream Board of Trustees and was instrumental in the creation of Carol Stream's first public library. Ultimately they lived in Fort Myers, Florida, where they resided until William passed away, whereupon Mary Lou returned to Illinois. Mary Lou was a passionate antiquer, prolific reader and avid walker. She was also a lifelong Christian, starting every day reading and studying her bible, and praying for her loved ones. We will miss her greatly.
Mary Lou is survived by Eric and Aynne Malmborg and their children William and Thomas; Jeff and Lorraine Malmborg and their children Noelle, Thomas, David, Justin and Kate; Miles and Kim Malmborg and their children Jeremy, Heather, Amber, Blake and Cameron; and Andrew Malmborg.
