Mary Kay Norton, 50, of Mendota, beloved mother and friend, passed away March 26, 2014, in Rockford Memorial Hospital after a recent illness. A memorial Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Holy Cross Church, Mendota with the Rev. Fredi Gomez-Torres officiating. There will be no visitation. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota provided arrangements. She was born March 27, 1963, in Mendota. She was a graduate of Mendota High School. She is survived by her mother, Joan (Manning) Lamkin of Mendota; two daughters, Meagen Gillan and Malarie Norton, both of Mendota; one son, Garrett Norton of Mendota; six grandchildren, Caideync, Camdeyn, Carseyn, Ellie, Jaxzeyn and Tristan; four sisters, Kim McCurrie of Cicero, Monica Lewalski of Tinley Park, Billie Jo Lamkin of Phoenix, Ariz., and Wanda Lamkin of Peru; one brother James Lamkin of Gibson City; aunts, uncles and cousins; and her boyfriend Michael Remmick. She was preceded in death by the father of her children, Greg Norton.
