Mary Wear, 75, of Mendota died July 7, 2010, in Mendota Lutheran Home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota, with the Rev. Larry Sheaves officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. She was born March 12, 1935, in Bushnell to Kenneth and Lucille (Hood) Ross. She married Gene Wear on Dec. 28, 1964. She attended First United Methodist Church in Mendota. She sold Avon products for 35 years and was a member of Avon's Presidents Club. She is survived by two sons, Walter (Carolyn) Wear of Rockford and Mike (Rose) Wear of Mendota; nine daughters, Yvonne Carr of La Salle, Connie (Jerry) Husband of Mendota, Rose Janssen of Mendota, Karen (John) Reutner of Mendota, Diane Sater of Mendota, Pat Rodriguez of Oglesby, Barbara Wear of Sterling, LaJean Baker of Macomb and Cindy Fuller of Sterling; 31 grandchildren; and six greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband on Sept. 27, 1991; one son, Larry Janssen; and three brothers. Memorials may be directed to the family.
