Matthew W. Beetz, 43, of Franklin, Wis., formerly of
Mendota, died Sept. 17, 2013.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Zion
United Methodist Church, Mendota. Interment will be
at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mendota.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday in Merritt Funeral
Home, Mendota.
Mr. Beetz was born Oct. 30, 1969, to William C. and
Margaret J. Beetz. He married L. Elizabeth Wilson on
June 20, 1998, in Mendota.
He graduated from Mendota High School in 1988.
Matt was an avid bowler and enjoyed fishing, camping
and horseshoes in the summer. He had a kind and
helpful spirit and was always using his construction talent
to help friends and family. Matt especially enjoyed
working with The Master's Craftsmen on mission projects
both in the United States and Romania.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth of Franklin,
Wis.; children Alexis, Brandon and Faith of Franklin;
his parents, William C. (Chris) Beetz of Mendota and
Margaret J. Beetz of Eldridge, Iowa; one brother, Brian
C. (Kathy) Beetz of Sycamore; his grandmother, Lois
Beetz of Mendota; and aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by twin children, Ben and
Joy; paternal grandfather, Charles D. Beetz; and maternal
grandparents, Charles R. and Patricia Bader. Memorials may be directed to The Master's Craftsmen for mission projects.
