It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Matt Bond, age 55, on June 6th.

Matt was a husband, loving father, cherished son, brother, uncle and friend. He was known for his generous heart and contagious energy he brought to the room. Whether at wo rk, with family, or among friends, he approached life with enthusiasm, laughter and a willingness to help anyone in need. Matt loved watching his kids thrive. He loved watching Krew play sports, especially baseball. He was excited for Kirby to pursue a degree in the medical field. He always said she is just a born caregiver.

Matt is survived by his wife Kelly; his children, Krew and Kirby Bond; his parents Bob and Kathy Bond; his siblings Tony (Stephanie) Bond, his twin brother Marc (Rebecca) Bond and his sister Melissa (Andy) Politsch. Matt is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Though his passing leaves an unimaginable void, his spirit, laughter and love will continue to live on in the heart of all that knew him.

Cremation care has been provided. A memorial visitation will be from 3:00-7:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Horner-Merritt Funeral Home, 800 Monroe Street in Mendota.
