Obituary

Merle C. Fetzer, 83, of Arlington
died Jan. 14, 2015, in
Colonial Healthcare, Princeton.
Funeral services will be at
1:30 p.m. Monday in Bache
Chapel,
Van Orin
with
the Rev.
Michael
Morrell
officiating.
Burial will
be at Van
Orin Repose
Cemetery.
Visitation
is 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
Monday in the chapel. Funeral
arrangements were
provided by Merritt Funeral
Home, Mendota.
He was born Sept. 20,
1931, in Sublette to Lester
and Esther (Opsahl) Fetzer.
He married Corrine Fouth on
March 16, 1952, in Peru.
He graduated from
LaMoille High School in
1949. He was a member
of Zion United Church of
Christ, Peru. He was a member
of Bureau County Farm
Bureau and Pork Producers.
He enjoyed attending his
grandchildren's school activities,
was a fan of the Fighting
Illini and Chicago Cubs
and also enjoyed fishing. He
was a lifelong farmer in the
Arlington area and used John
Deere equipment in his farming
operation.
He is survived by one
son, Ron (Melissa) Fetzer of
Arlington; daughters Julie
(Bruce) Barganz of Fort
Atkinson, Wis., and Brenda
Dye of Malden; grandchildren,
Derek (Candice), Alycia
(Mike), Brett (Morgan Ferguson),
Lindsay, and Ashlee;
two great-grandchildren,
Breanna and Brynlee; and
one brother, Delbert Fetzer
of West Brooklyn.
He was preceded in death
by his wife on Sept. 22, 2013;
his parents; and one sister,
Beverly Meyer.
Memorials may be directed
to the Malden Fire Department
or LaMoille Ambulance
Service.
