A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. at United Pentecostal Church, Mendota with Pastor James Duncan officiating. Private graveside services will be held at Johnson Grove Cemetery, Waterman at a later date. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota is assisting the family.

Michael was born November 6, 1959 in Sandwich to Edwin and Dorothy (Elkin) Hinkston. He married Donna Pitt on June 18, 1990 in Sycamore.

Michael attended school in Rollo. He graduated from Leland High School in 1978. He worked for Illinois Valley Drywall from 2000-2010. Mike later helped Frank Fouts from 2010 until present. He would help absolutely anyone in need, friends and strangers alike.

Mike is survived by his mother Dorothy Fessler of Mendota; three brothers Pete (Mary) Hinkston of Mendota, Bill (Bonnie) Hinkston of Texas and Tracy (Sandy) Hinkston of Dayton, Illinois; three sisters Pat Abell of Texas, Mary (Ike) Vancil of Plano and Becky Gulley of Mendota and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by father Edwin, his wife Donna on October 6, 2022, his brother Don Hinkston and his sister Kim Parker.
