Michael V. Matheis, 64, of Mendota died Nov. 19, 2011 at Mendota Community Hospital. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be private. Mr. Matheis was born June 30, 1947 in Chicago to Vincent and Jane (Doyle) Matheis. He married Lynn Dunlap on Aug. 4, 1979 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Mendota. He is survived by his wife of Mendota. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mary Fahey in 2011. Mr. Matheis worked for Sun Electric in Chicago for several years before retiring. He was a model railroad enthusiast, was involved in science fiction fandom and was a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism. Memorials may be directed to the donor's choice
