Michael Ray Scott, 78, of Mendota, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2025, at home surrounded by his loving family. Mike was born September 16, 1946, in Mendota, the son of Edward and Wilma (Schmidt) Scott. He married Kay Manning on April 4, 1970.

Mike worked as a machine operator for Sundstrand and RR Donnelley. Upon retirement, he was a jack of all trades, doing odd jobs for anyone who needed a hand. He enjoyed traveling with Kay to Arizona and Colorado.

Mike is survived by his wife, Kay Scott; daughters, Michelle (Rudy) Arteaga and Nicole (Derek) Neal; grandchildren, Christopher Carreon, Connor (Alaina) Carreon, Briana (Nick) Ganz, Nicholas Arteaga, and Dylan Neal; eight great-grandchildren; and siblings Sue Scott, Edward (Andi) Scott, and Amy (Craig) Carter.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Wilma (Schmidt) Scott; a daughter, Stacy Scott Carreon; a grandson, Anthony Arteaga; and siblings, John Scott, Paul Scott, Richard Scott, Wanda Scott, Marsha Scott, and Steve Scott;

Funeral services for Mike will take place at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 24, 2025 with Pastor Jeff Schlesinger officiating at the Horner-Merritt Funeral Home, 800 Monroe Street in Mendota. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service Tuesday at the funeral home. Cremation care will be provided following the services and interment of cremated remains will take place at a later date in Restland Cemetery, Mendota.
