Mildred R. Ambler, 90, of Mendota died Sept. 1, 2011, in Mendota Lutheran Home. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation will be private in Merritt Funeral Home. She was born Nov. 10, 1920, in Princeton to William and Rose Belle (Leigh) Neighbor. She married James Ambler on June 25, 1938, in Clinton, Iowa. She loved to crochet. Survivors include two sons, James (Kay) Ambler of Mendota and Lowell Ambler of Mendota; one daughter, Madge (Harold) Patterson of Corvallis, Ore.; six grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Rose Austin of Joliet. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1985, two brothers; four sisters; and daughter-in-law, Shirley Ambler. Memorials may be directed to the donor's choice.
