2015, in Mendota Lutheran
Home.
Mass of Christian burial
will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday
in Holy Cross Church,
Mendota, with the Rev. Bo
Schmitt officiating. Burial of
ashes will be at Restland
Cemetery, Mendota.
Merritt Funeral Home,
Mendota provided the
arrangements.
She was born June 25,
1920, in Ottawa to John
and Catherine (Corrigan)
English. She married Wayne
Hall on Jan. 28, 1942, in St.
Patrick's Catholic Church,
Ottawa.
She attended St. Patrick's
Grade School and Ottawa
High School. She worked as
a secretary for the La Salle
County Farmer Advisor,
where she met her
husband. They lived on a
farm near Harding until
1969 when they moved to
Mendota.
She was a volunteer at
Mendota Community Hospital
for several years. She
was a member of Holy
Cross Church. She loved
watching birds, gardening,
doing crossword puzzles,
hooking rugs and crocheting.
She is survived by one
son, Wayne "Butch" Hall of
Brown Deer, Wis.; a son-inlaw,
Jerald Truckenbrod of
Mendota; sisters-in-law
Mary English of Bloomington
and Juvita English of
Ottawa; four grandchildren,
George (Allan) Truckenbrod,
Greg (Wendy) Truckenbrod,
Rhonda (Tim)
Schultz and Renee Truckenbrod;
and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in
death by her husband on
Dec. 28, 2000; one daughter
Elsie Truckenbrod; and siblings
Agatha, Bernard, Florence
"Peg", Glenn, John,
Joe and Larry.
