Mildred Mathesius, 86, of Stonecroft Village, Mendota died Jan. 29, 2009, in Mendota Community Hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with the Rev. Dale Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation is one hour prior to services Monday in the funeral home. She was born Dec. 8, 1922, in Peru to John and Mary (Meyer) Delaney. She married Harold Mathesius on Dec. 17, 1944, in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Compton. She attended La Salle-Peru Township High School and lived on the family farm outside of Mendota. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Compton and a former member of the Rebekahs. She was a member of Mendota Museum and Historical Society. She is survived by one daughter, Diane Musgrove of Mendota; three grandsons; one great-grandson; four stepgreat-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband in August 1979, four brothers and two sisters. Memorials can be directed to Mendota Area Senior Services.
