Mildred E. Truckenbrod, 96, of Mendota died March 27, 2015, in Mendota Community Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church, Mendota, with the Rev. Michael Morrell officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until time of services Saturday at the church. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota provided the arrangements.
She was born Oct. 16, 1918, in Clarion Township to Howard and Ivy (Fischer) Bauer. She married Harry Truckenbrod on Sept. 14, 1939, in Clarion Township.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Mendota and prior to that she was a member of Perkins Evangelical United Brethren Church and the Community United Methodist Church of LaMoille. She was active in Clarion Home Extension. She was an avid gardener who enjoyed tending to her flower and vegetable garden. She was a graduate of Allen High School in LaMoille.
She is survived by one sister, Joan Ecklund of LaMoille; two sons; Jerald of Mendota and David (Janet) of West Salem, Wis.; six grandchildren, Jennifer (Brett) Cavadini, George (Allan), Greg (Wendy), Jeff (Jolene), Rhonda (Tim) Schultz and Renee; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on March 18, 1995; one daughter-in-law, Elsie; and two brothers, Robert and Richard.
