Mina R. Pohl, 75, of Mendota died June 19, 2016, in St. Anthony's Medical Center, Rockford.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in First Presbyterian Church, Mendota, with the Rev. Susan Presley officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota.
Mina was born Aug. 8, 1940, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to John and Gertrude Marjory (Shelton) Jackson. She married George Pohl on June 25, 1961.
She was a 1958 graduate of Mendota High School and graduated from Illinois State University where she earned a bachelor of science degree in education.
She was employed by Mendota School District 289 beginning in 1966. She was a first grade teacher and then moved to kindergarten from 1976 until her retirement in May 2001. She taught all 36 years at Northbrook Grade School in Mendota.
She was active in Mendota Community Theater.
She is survived by her husband, George of Mendota; one daughter, Melissa (Scott) McCoy of Mendota; and two grandchildren, Paul and Erin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Marc; two brothers, John S. and Melvin Jackson; and one sister, Jo Ann Jackson.
