Myrna J. Elsesser, 72, of Mendota died Oct. 16, 2008, at home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in St. John's Lutheran Church, Mendota, with the Rev. Dale Peterson officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. She was born June 20, 1936, in Mendota to John B. and Ina (Foulk) Kilmartin. She married Richard Elsesser on Sept. 11, 1955, in St. John's Lutheran Church. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and also served on the church council. She was a 1954 graduate of Mendota High School. She was employed by Conco Engineering Works, Graves- Hume Public Library and Candyland Childcare, all in Mendota. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and Mendota Public Schools. She is survived by her husband; two sons, Mark (Barbara) Elsesser of Buffalo Grove and David Elsesser of Omaha, Neb.; one daughter, Susan (Larry) Lawrence of Mendota; five grandchildren; two brothers, John (Cathy) Kilmartin and Michael (Toni) Kilmartin, both of Mendota; and nieces and nephews. Memorials may be directed to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
