Myrtle D. Terry, 85, of 406 Fourth St., Mendota died Dec. 29, 2008, in Mendota Lutheran Home, where she had resided the past three years. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday in St. John's Lutheran Church, Mendota, with the Rev. Dale Peterson officiating. Burial will be at St. John' Lutheran Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Friday in the church lounge. Funeral arrangements were provided by Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. Mrs. Terry was born Feb. 18, 1923, in New Ulm, Minn., to Harry and Elsa (Freadrich) Hamann. She married Harold Terry on April 26, 1941, in New Ulm. She worked in the Illinois Valley area for many years and ran the Mendota Bus Depot for 10 years. She was employed as a greeter at Wal- Mart in Peru for 14 years before her retirement. She was a lifetime member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She is survived by three daughters, Joanne (Howard) Rosenberg of St. Charles, Mo., Judy (Garold) Bentley of Mendota and Joy (Larry) Crosby of Lake Como, Fla.; six grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren; and two sisters, Marcella (Joe) Chandler of Mendota and Betty (Glynn) Peterson of Moorhead, Minn. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2004; four brothers and one sister. Memorials may be directed to the donor's choice.
