Nadine M. Holdenrid, 79, of Mendota died July 11, 2011, in her residence. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Holy Cross Church, Mendota with the Rev. Fredi Gomez Torres officiating. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Friday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. She was born Oct. 7, 1932, in La Salle to Adolf and Catherine (Valentino) Orio. She married Donald Holdenrid on Oct. 27, 1951, in Oglesby. She was a 1948 graduate of La Salle-Peru Township High School and member of Holy Cross Church. She is survived by four sons, Donald (Kris) Holdenrid of Charlotte, N.C., Kurt (Chris) Holdenrid of Mendota, Kevin Holdenrid of Charlotte, N.C., and Chris (Cindy) Holdenrid of Mendota; seven grandchildren, Jeffrey Holdenrid, Michael Holdenrid, Kimberly Holdenrid, Sarah Holdenrid, Niki Castle, Adam Holdenrid and Chandler Holdenrid; five great-grandchildren, Keira, Keilee, Bradon, Caleb and Madden; one brother, Butch (Johanna) Orio of La Salle; and one sister, Gloria George of Oglesby. She was preceded in death by her husband on July 20, 1996, and one son, David. Memorials may be directed to Illinois Valley Hospice or Mendota Community Hospital Foundation.
