Nancy M. Childers, 69, of Mendota died Sept. 4, 2016, in Manor Court, Peru.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota, with the Rev. Janet Lepp officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota.

Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m. until time of services Thursday at the funeral home.
Nancy was born Nov. 26, 1946, in Mendota to Clarence and Dorothy (Fassig) Eich. She was a 1964 graduate of Mendota High School. She married Robbin Childers on Feb. 6, 1972, in Immanuel Lutheran Church of Compton.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Mendota and served on the funeral lunch committee. She loved to travel with her friends throughout the United States and on several vacation cruises. She was employed by Conco Inc., Heico and R.R. Donnelley Co., all located in Mendota.

Nancy is survived by one sister, Marla (Roger) Sommerville of Peru; one brother, Nathan Eich of La Salle; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Aug. 31, 1989; her parents, and one sister, Melody Wojciechowski.
