Nathon Edward Huhn, 19, of Compton died May 27,2012, in his home. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with Pastor Ken Foster of Compton United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to services Saturday in the funeral home. Nathon was born Dec. 5, 1992, in Aurora to Allen and Beth (Rawlings) Huhn. He was a 2012 graduate of Mendota High School and planned to attend Illinois Valley Community College in the fall. Nathon was a Compton volunteer firefighter. He loved wolves and wanted to be a bush pilot in Alaska so he could observe wolves, which he said are "amazing, stunning, brave, smart, respectful, and beautiful!" These were also qualities possessed by Nathon. He had the biggest heart and was willing to help anyone at his own expense. The only thing bigger than his heart was his ambition and passion for the things he wanted to accomplish with his life. Nathon touched many people during his short life and left an abundance of love for everyone he met. Survivors include his parents of Compton; two brothers, Johnathon Huhn of Mendota and Eian Huhn of Compton; his maternal grandmother, Barbra Rawlings of Sandwich; his paternal grandparents, Edward (Dolly) Huhn of Plano and Anna Chris Huhn of Yorkville; and numerous members of his extended family. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, William Rawlings. Memorials may be directed to a fund to be established at Financial Plus Credit Union.
