Nila Ann Sweger, 83, of Mendota died Jan. 28, 2011, in Mendota Lutheran Home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Faith Bible Fellowship Church in Troy Grove, with pastor Bill Ultch presiding. Burial will be at Troy Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. She was born Sept. 25, 1927, to Aloysius and Margaret (McPhedran) Steinbach. She married Robert Sweger on May 15, 1965. She was a member of the Faith Bible Fellowship Church. She also was a volunteer for many years at Mendota Community Hospital and Nightingale's Closet in Mendota. Survivors are her husband; son Dr. Michael (Barb) Campeggio of Leonardtown, daughter Chris (Bill) Beetz of Mendota and son Randy (Crystal) Sweger of Mendota; 12 grandchildren, Michael, Theresa and Chris Campeggio, Candy Tillman, Justin and Nathan Walter, and Bradley, Tiffany, Katie, Jessica, Zach and Samantha Sweger; five great-grandchildren, Michael and Callie Campeggio and Teghan, Marly and Lex Tillman; and one sister, Marge Mueller of Peru. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Joseph Campeggio; and two brothers, Al and Don Steinbach. Memorials may be directed to Faith Bible Fellowship Church.
