Obituary

Norma L. Fitch, 88, of Mendota died August 8, 2017 in Heritage Health, Mendota.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday in the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with Rev. Kent Svendsen officiating. Burial will take place in Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. til time of service on Monday  in the funeral home.

Norma was born January 28, 1929 in Mendota to Chester and Hilda (Haefner) Wills. She married Robert Fitch on May 22, 1949.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Mendota. She was a florist employed by Beitsch Greenhouse and later Jerry's Flower Barn, Mendota. .She  owned Everything's Coming Up Silk in downtown Mendota. Norma enjoyed sewing, flower arranging and cooking. Her favorite color was green. One of her favorite foods were bananas. She was  a cat lover and her favorite vacation was her trip to Hawaii.

She is survived by one son, Robert (Debra) Fitch of Foley, AL; two grandchildren, Chris (Andrea) Dana and Bryce (Melissa) Dana; two great-grandchildren, Anderson and Leilani; son in law Charles Dana; and a step-sister, Annette Truckenbrod, of Mendota.

She was preceded by her husband,on September 7, 2009, a daughter, Beth Dana, one granddaughter, Lori Dana and one sister, Carol Leyshon.

Memorials may be directed to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
