Obituary

Norma Lee (Dutton) Kessinger, 87, of Mendota passed away September 7, 2021 at Stonecroft Village Retirement Community, Mendota.
Funeral services will be Friday, September 10, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with Rev. Ken Foster officiating. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-7 p.m. in the funeral home.
Norma was born May 23, 1934 in Woodland Twp., Il. to Eldon and Garnet (Husted) Dutton. She married Richard "Dick" Kessinger March 4, 1955 in Alexis, Il.
Norma was a 1952 Little York High School graduate and 1966 LaSalle School of Beauty graduate. She operated Norma's Beauty Shop from their home in Compton and then from their home in Mendota until her retirement in 2009. She was a member of Compton United Methodist Church for over 50 years serving on the Board as well as WSCS and a Sunday School teacher. She was most recently a member of LIFE Connections in Mendota for 8 years.
She is survived by her three daughters Jackie (Jeff) Zinke of West Brooklyn, Linda (Steve) Zuber of LaMoille and Wanda (David) Mauch of Mendota; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter; sister Patricia "Patsy" (Larry) Castor of Aledo; brother David (Linda) Dutton of Alexis and sister in law Ruth Ann "Oliver" Dutton of Aledo.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2004, her parents and two brothers Phillip Dutton and Carol Dutton.
Memorials may be directed to Graves-Hume Public Library or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
