Obituary

Norman Inman, 74, of Peru died April 28, 2008, in Illinois Valley Community Hospital, Peru. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota, with the Rev. Dan Hoehn officiating. Cremation rites were accorded. Visitation is one hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home. He was born April 19, 1934, in Mendota to Denver and Grace (Miller) Inman. He married Mary Jacobs on Nov. 3, 1956, in Bloomington. He graduated from Mendota High School in 1952 and La Salle-Peru-Oglesby Junior College in 1954. He served with the U.S. Army after graduating from college. He was employed by Farm Supply in Ottawa and later by Compton Ag Services before his retirement. He is survived by his wife, Mary of Peru; four sons, Gregory Inman of Glenwood Springs, Colo., Timothy Inman of Mendota, David Inman of Longmont, Colo., and Scott (Kathi) of Madison, Wis.; two daughters, Kathryn (John) Neenan of Naperville and Kristina (Steve) Korsan of La Salle; eight grandchildren; one brother, Gordon of Mendota; and two nieces and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and an uncle. Memorials may be directed to Muscular Dystrophy Association.
