Oden Jordal, 92, of
Mendota died June 2, 2007, in
his residence.
Services will be at 11 a.m.
Wednesday in First
Presbyterian Church,
Mendota, with the Rev. Dale
Dykstra officiating. Burial will
be at Union Cemetery, Lee.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m.
Tuesday in Merritt Funeral
Home, Mendota.
Mr. Jordal was born Aug. 6,
1914, in Steward to Ole and
Elizabeth (Brown) Jordal. He
married Arlene Storey on Aug.
20, 1938, in Shabbona.
He graduated from
Shabbona High School,
received his bachelor of arts
degree from Northern Illinois
University and a master?s
degree from the University of
Illinois. He was principal of
Lincoln Grade School in
Mendota from 1947 through
1976.
He was a member and elder
of First Presbyterian Church
and a member of Mendota
Kiwanis Club, where he served
as club secretary for more than
40 years and had perfect attendance
for more than 50 years.
He is survived by two sons,
James of Mendota and John
(Joan) of Plainfield; one
daughter, Janet (Ken) Dolbow
of Arlington, Texas; nine
grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren;
and nieces and
nephews.
He was preceded in death
by his wife on Sept. 1, 2002,
and two brothers.
