Orrie Jane Danekas, 73, of
1603 Illinois Ave., Mendota,
died July 7, 2007, in her home.
Services will be at 11 a.m.
Wednesday in Merritt Funeral
Home with the Rev. Gale
Brandner officiating. Burial
will be at Restland Cemetery,
Mendota.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m.
Tuesday in the funeral home.
She was born Dec. 21,
1933, in Norfolk, Va., to Lester
and Nette May (Jones)
Spenader. She married Dale
Danekas on July 28, 1956, in
Mendota.
Mrs. Danekas graduated
from Mendota High School in
1952 and attended nursing
school at Cottage Memorial
Hospital, Galesburg. She
worked as a nurse at Mendota
Community Hospital for 35
years. She was also employed
by Heritage Manor Nursing
Home in Mendota for five
years.
She is survived by one son,
Michael of Mendota; and a sister,
Shirley Antonsen of
Fuquay Varina, N.C.
She was preceded in death
by her husband in 2000 and
her parents.
