Obituary

Patricia M. "Patti" Rigazio, 75, of Mendota died peacefully March 22, 2015, in her residence.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Holy Cross Church, Mendota with the Rev. Bo Schmitt officiating. Burial of ashes will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mendota. There will be no visitation. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota provided the arrangements.
She was born in Ottumwa, Iowa on Aug. 21, 1939, to John and Mary (Kelso) Booth. She married Kenneth Rigazio on Oct. 3, 1987, in Mendota.
Patti graduated from Mendota High School in 1958. After high school, she trained as a key punch operator for GTE. She worked in the produce department at the Mendota Food Center for many years. Patti eventually retired from Motor Wheel Corp. in Mendota where she met her husband, Ken.
Patti belonged to Holy Family Church, Oglesby, Daughters of Isabella, Holy Cross Church, and AARP. She enjoyed fishing and relaxing on the Chippewa Flowage in Hayward, Wis. More than anything, Patti loved spending time with her beloved family and many friends.
She is survived by her three loving children, Cindy (Mike) Kyarsgaard of Rock Falls, Vernon (Val) Gadd and John Gadd both of La Salle; seven grandchildren, Cory, Julie, Bridget, Michael, Dakota, Collin, and Cailin; two great-granddaughters, Passionnay and Carmen; four stepchildren, Vickie (Chuck) Garzanelli and Michael (Elaine) Rigazio of Missouri, Sandy (Pete) Agabedis of Florida, Lisa (Mark) Purarich of Texas; seven step-grandchildren; three sisters, Peg Truckenbrod and Cindy (Joe) Beetz, both of Mendota and Kathy Montavon of Altoona, Iowa; special nephew and friend, Bernie Beetz and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 2006; infant son, Joseph; grandson, Tyler Spitz; step-grandson, Kenny Kreptofek; sister, Betty Miller; and brothers-in -law, Curt Truckenbrod and Doug Miller.
Memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial to be established.
Pallbearers will be Mike, Collin, and Cailin Kyarsgaard, Cory Spitz, and Bernie and Barry Beetz.
