Pearl (Piller) Pfeifer, 92, of Dixon died March 9, 2014, in Green Acres Nursing Home, Amboy. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota, with the Rev. Frank Langhoff officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation is one hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home. She was born Nov. 8, 1921, in Mendota to Leroy and Mabel (Earich) Heinzeroth. She married Robert Piller in 1939 in Iowa; he died in 1969. She married Clarence Pfeifer in Dixon in 1976; he died in 2012. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Dixon and taught Sunday school. She helped her husband Robert farm. She is survived by one daughter, Judith (Peter) Dougherty of Phoenix, Ariz.; one son, Leslie (Theresa) Piller of Amboy; six grandchildren; one stepgrandson; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Keith (Vina) Heinzeroth of Mendota; and four sisters, Ruth Musser, Velma (Don) Schmidt, Joyce Spanier and Katherine (Leonard) Funfsinn, all of Mendota. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by one son, Robert H. Piller; three brothers and one sister. Memorials may be directed to American Cancer Society or the donor's choice.
