Phyllis M. Bowne, 83, of Mendota
died Aug. 17, 2012, in Mendota
Lutheran Home.
Services will be at 11 a.m.
Wednesday in Merritt Funeral Home,
Mendota, with the Rev. Michael Morrell
officiating. Burial will be at Restland
Cemetery, Mendota.
Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Tuesday in the
funeral home.
She was born June 10, 1929, in
Mendota to Charles and Marie (Kittle)
Parsons. She married Thomas Bowne on
Nov. 12, 1948, in Yuma, Ariz.
Mrs. Bowne graduated from Mendota
High School in 1947 and attended
Illinois State University, where she
played softball.
She is survived by her husband,
Thomas of Mendota; two sons, John
(Sheryl) Bowne of Mendota and David
Bowne of Arizona; daughter in-law Sharoldine Bowne of Normal; six grandchildren
and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one
son, Steve in 2008; one brother and one
sister.
