Rachel Meuser Heisten, 62, of LaMoille died Aug. 23, 2009, in the home of her sister. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Patrick's Church, Maytown, with the Rev. Carl E. Beekman officiating. Interment of ashes will be at Calvary Cemetery, Arlington at a later date. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until services Wednesday in the church. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota, handled arrangements. She was born April 29, 1947, in La Salle to Joseph and Sophia (Ryba) Meuser. She married Donald Heisten on Aug. 10, 1968, in Arlington. She graduated from LaMoille High School and St. Anthony's School of Nursing. She was employed as a professional nurse in the Batavia area before joining her husband in the dairy business. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Maytown and its Altar and Rosary Society. She is survived by two sisters, Marilyn Weeks of LaMoille and Sharon (Ken) Funfsinn of Mendota; one brother, Michael (Marilee) Meuser of Ladd; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2006; and her parents. Memorials may be directed to LaMoille Ambulance Service or Illinois Valley Hospice.
