Ramona Menchaca, 99, of Mendota, passed away Monday July 3, 2023 at Heritage Health and Senior Care, Mendota.

There will be a visitation at Merritt Funeral Home in Mendota on Sunday July 9, 2023 from 1-4 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Cross Church in Mendota on Monday July 10, 2023 beginning at 10:30 a.m. with Father Peter Pilon officiating. She will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery in Mendota.

Ramona was born January 3, 1924 in Laredo, Texas to Reyes and Louisa (Arisole) Martinez.

Ramona was a caring loving woman who loved taking care of her family. She loved to sew and cook and will be remembered for her delicious recipes especially her tamales and tortillas.

She is survived by her children Nora Mendez, Mary (Edward) Ras, Gloria (Cris) Ortiz, Margot Menchaca and Richard (Sherry) Menchaca; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Frank, her son Frank, all of her siblings and a granddaughter Monica.
