Obituary
Raymond L. Edwards was called to be with the angels on August 10, 2021 in Grants Pass, Oregon.
Ray was born December 22, 1937 to Eldon and Velma Edwards in Rockford, Il.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Karen (Schroeder) Edwards.
Survivors are his children Steven Edwards, Peter (Penny) Edwards, Dena (Wayne) Wenger, all of Rockford and Monica Edwards of Peru;
10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and sister-in-law Mary Ellen Schroeder of Mendota.
He worked at Borg-Warner and Ingersoll in Rockford. Before retiring, he enjoyed his time as a Community Service Officer with the Belvidere Police Department.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 24, 2021 at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Compton at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Jeff Schlesinger officiating. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota is assisting the family.
