Obituary

Raymond Ladenburger, 96, of Mendota died Nov. 30, 2011, in Mendota Community Hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in St. John's Lutheran Church, Mendota, with the Rev. Dale Peterson officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation is 2-4 p.m. Sunday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. He was born July 8, 1915, in Brooklyn Township to Henry and Eva (Willard) Ladenburger. He married Lucille Bodmer on Jan. 14, 1939, in Clinton, Iowa. He farmed in the West Brooklyn area before moving to Mendota in 1960. He was employed as a pressman at Wayside Press, Mendota, and later as a Mendota school bus driver. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. He is survived by two sons, Larry (Carolyn) Ladenburger of Allegan, Mich., Ken (Laurie) Ladenburger of Mendota; one daughter, Linda (Ron) Landes of Colorado Springs, Colo.; four grandchildren, Melissa, Joi, Jessica and Kyle; and eight great-grandchildren, Caleb, Caitlyn, Camden, Cadance, Carson, Caylee, Jared and Jenna. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille, on Feb. 6, 2010; two brothers, Art and Donald; and an infant sister. Memorials may be directed to St. John's Lutheran Church or Mendota Lutheran Home.
