Raymond Nance, 88, of Mendota died Oct. 27, 2009, in the Mendota residence of his grandson. There will be no services. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota, handled the arrangements. Mr. Nance was born May 1, 1921, in Mendota to Robert and Louise (Eichorn) Nance. He married Lillian Etheridge in January 1940. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II. He was a self-employed painter before retirement. He is survived by one daughter, Sabra Garten of Sublette; caregiver and granddaughter, Pat Fitzgerald; two grandsons, Alan Childs and Kyle Garten; two great-granddaughters, Tyan Childs and Paige Ellis; and two great-great-grandsons, David Dye and Daymein Ellis. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian, in 1982, and three brothers. Memorials may be directed to donors choice.
