Richard Allan Chapman, 88, of Mendota passed away November 13, 2020 at St. Margaret's Hospital, Spring Valley from complications from COVID-19.

A private service for the family will be held. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota is assisting the family.

Richard was born March 31, 1932 in Frederick, Illinois to Maurice and Julia (Smedley) Chapman. He married Donna Park on April 7, 1979 in Mendota.

He worked as a truck driver.

He is survived by his wife Donna of Mendota; children Patricia Pickett of Springfield, Richard (Lori) Chapman of Tallula and Norman (Tracy) Chapman of Springfield; 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son John Allan Chapman.
