Richard A. Jordan, 36, of Mendota died March 23, 2017 at his residence.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday in the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with Rev. Michael Morrell officiating. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation from 4-7 p.m., on Tuesday in the Merritt Funeral Home.

Richard was born January 30, 1981 in Spring Vallley.

He was a 1999 graduate of Mendota High School. He was employed as a carpenter for H & H Builders, Mendota and later by Allied Construction of Iowa.

He is survived by his children, Jayleen and Julian Jordan, and Carlos and Isaac Delao; the children's mother, Martha Delao; his mother, Christine (Hank) Grothen; one sister, Rachel (Jesse) Beetz; a niece, Karly Beetz; nephews, Cooper and Keegan Beetz; step-brothers, Brad Grothen, Dennis and Kyle Dirksen and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded by his step-father, Karl Dirksen and grandparents, Edward and Esther Jordan.
