Richard Klinefelter, 87, of rural Mendota died Sept. 14, 2007, in Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Mendota. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Merritt Funeral Home. Burial will be at Troy Grove Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Mr. Klinefelter was born Sept 6, 1920, in Troy Grove to Anson and Addie (McPherson) Klinefelter. He married Mattie McDonald on Dec. 28, 1953, in Mendota. He was director of Troy Grove Co-Op, a 50-year member of Elks Lodge 1212 and farmed in Troy Grove Township his entire life. Survivors are his son, Michael (Rhonda) Veit of La Salle; two grandchildren; and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his wife on April 26, 1992; three brothers and one sister. Memorials may be directed to Faith Bible Fellowship, Troy Grove.
