Richard "Dick" G. Saylor, 85, of Mendota, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2026, at his home. He was born September 5, 1940, in Mexico, MO, the son of Herbert and Dorothy (nee Youngblood) Saylor. He married Karen Bell on September 13, 1964, in Mendota.

Dick proudly served his country in the United States Army. He worked as a production manager at Mendota Agri-Products. He was known as "Meat Man" for the variety of jobs he held throughout the years. He loved to golf and play lightning bingo. Dick was a member of Mendota Moose Lodge #714 where he attained the degree of pilgrim. He was a member of the Mendota VFW Post #4079 and the Mendota Elks Lodge #1212.

Dick is survived by three sons, Kevin (Traci) Saylor, Brian (Jennifer) Saylor, and Jeff Saylor; eight grandchildren, Hannah, Madi, Dylan, Brock, Jacob, Lexie, Jayden and Sam Saylor; a sister, Shirley Morris; three brothers, Bob (Roseann) Saylor, Jerry (Cindy) Saylor, and Donny (Bonnie) Saylor; sister-in-law, Claudia Saylor; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Dick is preceded in death by his wife, Karen; brother, Kenny Saylor; and brother-in-law, Joe Morris.

The funeral service will be at 4:00 P.M. Saturday, July 18, 2026, at the Horner-Merritt Funeral Home, 800 Monroe Street, in Mendota with Pastor Mary Bohall officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Cremation care will be provided after the services.
