Rita Clare Weber, 80, of Mendota, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2018 at home surrounded by family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Peter Pilon at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, at Holy Cross Church, Mendota. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota, with a recitation of the rosary at 3:15 p.m.
Rita was born July 25, 1937, in Eureka to Daniel and Marie Michael Krumholz. She married the love or her life Norbert Weber December 26, 1959, in St Mary's Catholic Church in Metamora.
Rita was also a loving mother to her 5 children and 5 grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening and sharing all the vegetables it produced. She was also famous for her homemade pies and cinnamon rolls.
Rita was a dedicated member and volunteer at Holy Cross Catholic Church and St Mary's Alter Society in Mendota. She was a 20 year volunteer at the Mendota Community Hospital/ OSF Saint Paul Medical Center.
Surviving is her husband, Norbert Weber of Mendota; f ive children Susan (Scott) Seifert of Baraboo WI., Mark Weber of Pebble Beach CA., Elaine (Jay) Schmidt of Bloomington and Eric (Rachel) Weber of Saint Louis, MO.; five grandchildren Joshua Seifert, Daniel (Allyssa) Seifert, Michael Seifert all of Baraboo WI; Jessica (Cory) Geurts of Green Bay, WI., and Ryan Schmidt of Downs; five brothers and sisters, Rosemary Knoblauch, Tony Krumholz, Dan Jr. (JoAnn) Krumholz and Mary (Carl) Adams, all of Metamora and Bill (Joan) Krumholz of Peoria.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son, John Daniel Weber, sister Delores (William) Knoblauch, and brother Bernard (Joanne) Krumholz.
Memorials may be made to the Mendota Food Pantry or Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi retired sisters fund in Milwaukee, WI.
