Obituary
Robert Politsch, 86 of Mendota passed away July 21, 2018 in his home.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., at St. John's Lutheran Church, Mendota with Rev. Kim Lee-Brown officiating. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Compton. Visitation will be Monday from 4-7 p.m., in the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota.
Robert was born September 18, 1931 in Mendota to Fred and Ruth (Hurst) Politsch. He married Lois Zimmerlein on October 7, 1950 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Compton. She preceded him July 17, 1997. He married Joanne Haub June 13, 1998 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Mendota.
Robert graduated Mendota High School in 1949. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. He was employed at Conco in Mendota for 24 years and Classon's Super Foods until his retirement in 1992. His most admired love was woodworking, especially carving. He enjoyed camping and going to his grandkids sporting events.
He is survived by his wife Joanne of Mendota; his son Dennis (Kathy) Politsch of Mendota; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; four step children Dennis (Mary) Haub of Sycamore, Susan (Mike) Schultz of Mendota, James Haub of Dayton, OH., and Sallie (Herb) Kroninger of Brandenton, FL., eleven step grandchildren and 15 step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son James Politsch.
Memorials may be directed to St. John's Lutheran Church or American Heart Association.
