Roberta Politsch, 84, of Mendota died Nov. 10, 2011, in Rockford Memorial Hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in St. John's Lutheran Church , Mendota, with the Rev. Dale Peterson officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation is one hour prior to services Monday at the church. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota provided the arrangements. She was born July 26, 1927, in Arlington to Roy J. and Elsie M. (Scriba) Meisel. She married Arthur Politsch on May 16, 1946, in St. John's Lutheran Church. She was a graduate of LaMoille High School in 1944 and was employed by Holdenrid's shoe store in Mendota for several years. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and delivered for the Meals on Wheels program. She is survived by two sons, Gregg Politsch of Lexington, Ky., and Michael (Janalle) Politsch of Rockford; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Elaine Wamhoff of LaMoille; and several nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband on March 8, 2001.
