Roger A. Carr, 75, of Troy Grove, passed away Friday, November 25, 2022 at Heritage Health, Mendota surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be Friday at 12:00 p.m. at the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with Vicar Anthony Windau officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded after the funeral and private burial will be at Troy Grove Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and continue until time of services.

Roger was born October 14, 1947 in Mendota to Kenneth and Helen (Piller) Carr. He married Joanne Underwood on August 24, 1969 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Mendota.

Roger graduated from Mendota High School in 1966. He worked at Triumph CO-OP and then Moline Consumers for over 30 years. He was a volunteer for the Triumph Fire Department and past Fire Chief for several years. He was a Chicago Bears fan he enjoyed hunting and gardening.

Roger is survived by his wife of 53 years Joanne Carr; three children Julie (Frankie) Ponder, Jimmy (Michelle) Carr and Jodi (Bob) Arteaga; 5 grandchildren Casey and Rylee Ponder, Bobby and Gabe Arteaga and and Raigan Carr; sister Carolyn Hartt; brother Ronnie (Marsha) Carr; his brothers in law and sisters in laws, David and Robin Underwood and Mike and Linda Fisher.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his father and mother in law Francis and Helen Rich and his brothers in law Alan Rich and John Hartt.
