Ronald E. Kames, 72, of Troy Grove died April 17, 2010, in RML Specialty Hospital, Hinsdale. Services will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota, with the Rev. Harold Datzman, O.S.B., officiating. Interment of ashes will be at Riverview Park, Batavia. Visitation is 4-6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Kames was born June 25, 1937, in Aurora to Joseph and Henrietta (Wolsfeldt) Kames. He married Lois Lidel on May 3, 1975. He attended St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Peru. He was a lifelong over-theroad truck driver. He and his wife moved from St. Charles to Troy Grove 23 years ago. He is survived by his wife; one son, Kenneth (Christina) Kames of Plano; three daughters, Pamela (Shawn) Haslam of Seatonville, Tammy (John) Westphall of St. Charles and Kristina (Steve) Swanson of St. Charles; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Michilini of Elgin and Kathryn Redick of Shabbona. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. Memorials may be directed to the family.
