Ronald E. Michalec, 85, of Mendota, passed away October 28, 2021 at Heritage Health, Mendota.

Cremation rites were accorded. There will be no services. Private burial will be held.

Ron was born August 28, 1936 in Chicago to Edward and Josephine (Kaleta) Michalec.

Ron attended schools in the Chicago area. His passion was anything gambling and off track betting. He enjoyed writing. He loved camping and anything outdoors. He never missed an opportunity to take photos of nature. He was the longest living resident (35 years) and oldest at LaSalle County Housing (Mendota High Rise) at the time of his passing.

He is survived by three sons Robbie of Florida, Ronnie of Sandwich, and Ricky of Illinois; two daughters  Jennifer and Caroline both of Sandwich; two brothers Ricky and Richard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Janet and a brother Jim.
