Ronnie B. Loy, 67, of Triumph went to be with the Lord on Nov. 29, 2014, at his home surrounded by his grandsons.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Merritt Funeral Home with the Revs. Wesley Waddel and Glenn Foster officiating. Burial will be at Troy Grove Cemetery with military rites by Mendota VFW Post 4079.
Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
He was born July 29, 1947, in Sparksville. Ky., to J. B. and Ruth (Dudley) Loy. He married Christine Rhodes on Dec. 30, 1967, in Triumph. He attended the Earlville Baptist Church for many years.
He served with the U.S. Air Force. He was employed by Marathon Electric and for 31 years by Caterpillar in Aurora as a machinist before retirement. He was a member of UAW Local 145 and retired as a union steward after 30 years.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters; Angie Loy Reddin of Mendota and Missy Loy of La Salle; four grandchildren, Autumn, Tyler, Aaron and Elaina; three sisters, Shirley (Ralph) Napier of Perryville, Mo., Diane (Dale) Anthe of La Salle and Kathy Donnelly of Earlville; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Steve.
