in Holy
Cross Church, Mendota, with
the Rev. Fredi Gomez-Torres
officiating. Burial will be at
Restland Cemetery, Mendota.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m.
Wednes-day in Merritt
Funeral Home, Mendota.
She was born July 1, 1928,
in La Salle to Joseph and
Mary (Slomian) Haremski.
She married Gerald Shannon
on March 31, 1951, in St.
Hyacinth Church, La Salle.
Mrs. Shannon was a graduate
of La Salle-Peru Township
High School and St. Mary's
School of Nursing in La Salle.
She was employed as a
licensed practical nurse at St.
Margaret's Hospital, Spring
Valley, Mendota Community
Hospital, the medical office of
Dr. Elliott Faulk in Mendota
and Heritage Manor Nursing
Home before her retirement.
She was a member of Holy
Cross Church, Mendota.
Survivors are her husband,
Gerald of Mendota; one son,
James A. Shannon of Eureka;
one daughter, Barbara A.
(Mick) Hartley of Mendota;
three grandchildren; five
great-grandchildren; and one
sister, Anna M. Zemenski of
Oregon, Ohio.
She was preceded in death
by one brother and two sisters.

to Holy Cross Church or
Mendota Area Senior
Services.
