Obituary
Russell B. Crews, 98 of Mendota passed away February 3, 2020 at Illinois Veterans Home, LaSalle.
There will be no services. Cremation rites will be accorded and burial will be private. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota is handling arrangements.
Russell was born May 30, 1921 in McNabb to Albert and Mary (Horn) Crews. He married Lorna Tower on December 25, 1950 in Iowa.
Russell served in the United States Army during WWII. He worked with heavy equipment and drove truck all his life for Toedter Oil and Zibert Transport. He was a member of the Granville American Legion Post 180 and Teamsters Local Union 722.
He is survived by his sister Betty Pelszynski of Peru and
several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife in 2012 and 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
