Ruth M. Person, 91, formerly
of Mendota, died
July 20, 2013, in her son's
Plainfield home.
Services will be at 3:30
p.m. Friday in Amazing
Grace Church, Sterling, with
the Rev. Loren Schlomer officiating.
Graveside services at
Restland Cemetery, Mendota
will be at 1 p.m. Friday.
Visitation will be one hour
prior to services Friday at
the church. Merritt Funeral
Home, Mendota provided the
arrangements.
She was born March 17,
1922, in New Bedford to
Rudy and Sylvia (Streicher)
Barr. She married George
Person on Oct. 17, 1953.
She graduated from
Lutheran General School of
Nursing in Moline in 1951.
She worked as a registered
nurse at Mendota Community
Hospital and Mendota
Lutheran Home. She was certified
in deep muscle therapy
massage in 1979.
She is survived by one
daughter, Dr. Linnea Person
of Walnut; one son, Evan
(Angie) Person of Plainfield;
and two grandsons, Johnathan
and Eric Person, both of
Plainfield.
She was preceded in death
by her husband in 2006; and
one brother, Wayne Barr.

building fund.
