Ruth Slomian, 81, of
Mendota died Nov. 4, 2014,
in her residence.
Mass of Christian burial
will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday
in Holy Cross Church,
Mendota, with the Rev. Bo
Schmitt officiating. Burial
will be at a later date at
Holy Cross Cemetery, Mendota.
Visitation will be 3-7 p.m.
Friday in the church. Merritt
Funeral Home, Mendota
provided the arrangements.
She was born Sept. 27,
1933, in Peru to Henry and
Veronica (Gorski) Loebach.
She married Vincent Slomian
on Jan. 3, 1953, in St.
Mary's Church, Peru.
She was a member of
Holy Cross Church and also
St. Mary's Altar Society.
She served as a Eucharistic
Minister. She was a member
of Cursillo and with her
husband she was active in
Teens Encounter Christ.
She was a member of Mendota
Antique Auto Club.
She is survived by her
husband; three daughters,
Teresa (Donald) Sabitini
of Covington, La., Cheryl
Slomian of Bakersfield,
Calif., and Kathy (Paul) Giacobazzi
of Peru; six grandchildren;
and one brother,
James (Mary Ann) Loebach
of Oglesby.
She was preceded by five
brothers and one sister.
Memorials may be directed
to Holy Cross School
or Teens Encounter Christ.
